Mercedes Benz is one of the top most German brands famous for production of luxury cars since 1926. It’s sub category Mercedes Benz E Class specialized for executive cars has introduced it’s 2014 model with “Intelligent Drive System”. It is one of the most talked about features of the previous year.
The Intelligent Drive System assists the driver to ensure a safe drive by introducing a computerized steering and brake assist system. It is enabled with a Stereo Multi-purpose Camera near the rear view mirror that shows a 3D image to the driver. This system can automatically open and close the windows and sunroof and tight the seat belts as well.
How does the Intelligent Drive System assist the driver?
This system monitors the traffic by association of the stereo camera, brake assist system, cross traffic assist and a mid range radar.
If the computerized system feels a danger of collusion, it immediately enhances the intensity of breaks applied by the driver in order to reduce the chances of any accident or even if it happens, it ensures to reduce the possibility of destruction caused due to the collusion.
Pre Safe Brake system senses the presence of pedestrians and reduces the chances of collusion if the car is travelling at a high speed of 50 miles/hr.
This is another system that helps the driver stay in an appropriate lane and to keep a reasonable distance from the vehicles on it’s way even at a very high speed. One can release his hands from the steering wheel by enabling this feature. It is in fact the cameras on car that indicate the lane marking to the driver. If he tries to enter into an already filled lane or if the car leaves it’s lane, the steering wheel starts vibrating and the system gives a warning. Further it brings back the car into appropriate lane again by applying brakes.
The Active Lane Keeping Assist keeps an eye on flow of traffic from all sides if the car is traveling at a speed higher than 60 km/hr.
