HTC (High-Tech-Corporation), a Taiwani company famous for production of quality tablets and smartphones since 1997 has finally unveiled it’s new second generation smartphone “HTC One M8”, marketed as “The All New HTC One” in a Press Conference held on 25th March,2014.
The smartphone looks almost similar to the predecessor HTC One M7, yet with a slightly larger screen size having an LCD 3 touch screen display.
Design – M8:
Keeping the resolution same as that of M7 (1080×1920), HTC has focused on bumping up the display size from the predecessor’s 4.7 inches to 5 inches now in this model with a pixel density of 441 ppi.
Still having a fine metallic look with Aluminum unibody and an intense metallic texture.The polished metal finish looks more like a soft slippery jewel than a smartphone. Measuring a thickness of merely 9.3 mm with a bit more curved surface giving an extra grip.
M8 has been introduced in three eye catching hues.
- Metal Grey.
- Amber Gold.
- Arctic Silver.
Buttons on the bottom are replaced by Android’s On-Screen touch controls. Sound quality has been improved by introduction of dual speakers. From the storage point of view Nano Sim-Cards are used. A layer Gorilla Glass 3 protects the screen.

It has a “Duo Camera system” having 5 megapixels front Cam, with ultrapixel image sensors. And two rear camera sensors.
It has an additional feature of extreme power saving mode, promising 40% more battery life as compared to the previous model.
- Gesture controls “motion launch”.
- Some sources also point towards it’s waterproof nature to compete with it’s tough competitors, but this is not confirmed yet.

The expected price of this second generation smartphone is £579.99.
It will be available in market from April 4, 2014.
